Going along with my weekly comics and geek culture blog, a new podcast to talk about all things comics industry, from a female perspective. NEW EPISODES WEEKLY! Check in Mondays for Comic Book Culture and News, comics in other media and pop culture news, and New Comic Release Discussions from that week! If it has to do with comic books, I’ll cover it here. Special Edition Podcast Episodes are uploaded at least monthly, covering comics history, character backgrounds, MCU and DCEU discussions, and whatever else strikes mine and the audiences fancies. Topics discussed tend to include ideals of social justice, representation in all media, and queer topics, so don’t be surprised! This podcast comes from a progressive queer woman’s perspective. Language is clean unless I get too excited. Come get ”sweaty” about nerdy stuff with me!

Hey there, listeners! Another week, another weekly episode! This one covers so much, so stick around!
Our NEWS segment (0:08:24) starts with a few shorter bits of updates (Don't miss the Illyana podcast or the Batman on HBO Max!), before digging deep into Multiverse of Madness speculation (0:12:26) based off of a comic book wrap gift, Trans Representation in DC media (0:18:18), the Future of DC Entertainment (0:24:50), highs and lows of the Wonder Twins casting (0:28:18), Constantine by JJ Abrams Updates and Rumors (0:32:21), the official White Knight Red Hood Announcement (0:37:37), and of course, a full breakdown of the Thor: Love and Thunder Teaser (0:43:15)!
The weekly comic book PICKS (1:02:02) feature the penultimate Batman/Catwoman issue, Immortal Red Sonja #1 (fantastic!), and a few other fun things. This week's comic book PULLS (1:11:21) come with a short preface on open-mindedness, which I hope is understood.
The discussion of MOON KNIGHT episode 3 (1:20:30) goes through the events of the show, the comic book references and Easter eggs, and theories about where we're going next. And, of course, an explanation on who that third persona likely is!
We end with YOUNG JUSTICE Season 4 episode 18 (1:32:07) where things are getting Zoddy, and Doctor Who: Legend of the Sea Devils Spring Special (1:35:25), where I talk the history of the Sea Devils in Who, as well as the real life history of Madame Ching: Pirate Queen!
I'll be back with a new weekly episode next Monday (or Tuesday) talking comic books, news, speculation, Moon Knight, Young Justice, and DC and Marvel July comic book solicitations! Till then, stay sweaty, and enjoy your week.

Ep.58: Moon Knight’s MR KNIGHT! WW Historia! Clea Strange Questions!
Tuesday Apr 12, 2022
Tuesday Apr 12, 2022
Hello friends! We're pretty brief on news this week, talking Love and Thunder Marvel Legends leaks and a few bits of minor news on upcoming TV projects.
The previous week's comic book PICKS (0:16:00) include extended segments on WW The Amazons: Historia #2 and Strange #2 (0:29:53), before getting into a few others, all female-forward comics!
This week's comic book PULLS 0:42:19 include only a few indie #1's and some solid others worth getting excited about, but the main draw of this episode is the MOON KNIIGT Ep2 breakdown 0:46:11, titled Summon the Suit. Like last week, I go through the relevant events on the episode and how it connects to the comics, the takes the MCU is doing on comic entities, and theories about what might be happening going forward.
Finally, we end with the latest Young Justice S.4 0:57:34 ep., episode 17 titled: Leviathan Wakes. This episode wrapped up a lot of the current series arc, but there's still a long ways to go for these characters.
My next episode will be coming out Wednesday the 13th or Friday the 16th this week, being the April Yancy St Special: Magik! An Overview of Illyana Rasputin. I have an enormous amount of information to cover, and I'm supremely excited to talk all things Magik! Keep an eye out for that later this week, otherwise the next regularly scheduled episode is coming Monday the 18th, covering Moon Knight episode 3, more Young Justice, new comic book day, and all the relevant news! Until then, I hope your spring is coming along well. Get some rest, get unabashedly sweaty, and get excited. Lot's more to come!

Happy belated first contact day, and happy April!
I start this week's news (after a note on my personal current watch-list [in which I forgot to mention Demon Slayer, From, and Minx!]) with the coming Doctor Who special/s (0:09:35), info on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (0:15:03), The Batman's HBO Max release date (22:48), the continuation of Peach Momoko's Demon Days saga (0:23:42), sad updates for the Crow movie remake (0:28:39), an Obi Wan Kenobi show update (0:32:41), info on Blade's daughter's reveal (0:33:42), Daredevil in the MUC (0:37:08), and Multiverse of Madness (38:06) tickets are on sale today! Be sure to check out the new teasers--or don't, more to see for the first time in the movie!
The weekly Pick list had some stellar comics that deserved their own over-explanation, including demon Days: Blood Feud (0:39:11), Batman Beyond the White Knight #1 of 8 (0:45:28), Immortal X-Men #1 (0:51:38), and Captain Marvel #37 (1:01:25). Others include the Spider-Woman finale, Draculina, Silk, and more!
The Pull List this week (1:07:27) include plethora of Annuals, #1's, and one-shots, plus some great others like She-Hulk, Strange, and Historia!
You can find the Moon Knight episode 1 discussion at 1:15:36, covering the entirety of the episode's events with all the relevant comic and mythological information as we go through it! Today has episode two, watch out for spoilers, and we'll discuss it on podcast 58!
Finally, I wrap up with the new episodes of Young Justice: 14-16 (1:36:05). The three episodes have a LOT going on, so I hope my note-taking helps us both keep up with events going forward! New episodes on Thursdays!
That's it for this week! Sorry for the delay but as I mentioned, my day job is switching things up of late so I had to make some adjustments. I'll be back Monday the 11th with the new episode, plus that week I'll have the Illyana Rasputin podcast special uploaded prior to the release of New Mutants #25 at the end of the month! Stay hydrated, get some rest, meditate if you can, and definitely get sweaty about what you love. See you next time!

Starting off with the news this week, which includes some stuff I went pretty hard on! I've got an extended discussion on Poison Ivy's status quo (0:08:47), covering everything for her character from Heroes in Crisis to her new solo series starting in June. I'm also delighted to have a bit of information on a brand new project for the Monstress Team: Sana Takeda and Marjorie Liu (0:26:43). I have hilarious spoilers on the Morbius post-credits scenes (0:29:47), Nova news and speculation along with some character info (0:36:31), a new live-action Voltron project (0:42:05), what we know about the Gotham Knight's TV show (0:44:30), Behemoth's acquisition (0:49:45), updated Secret Invasion rumors (0:52:44), some rag time on Donny Cates (0:55:15), and the comics community reacts to the Oscars awards ceremony, 2022(0:58:09)!
With Moon Knight premiering first thing tomorrow, I obviously have a section on this upside dedicated to what to expect from the show (0:59:23), which I was happy to include details about Egyptian Deities and their place in the Marvel Universe (1:05:29), as I found a truly impressive Nerdist article on the topic (linked below).
Monday the 28th had the Myth of Stan Lee virtual conversation with Abraham Riesman (1:22:16), who has studied Stan extensively to write his book TRUE BELIEVER: the rise and fall of Stan Lee. The conversation touched on Stan's traditional position within marvel, his hereditary Jewishness, the controversy of his credit taking over certain projects, and the sad situation he found himself all the way until his death. I took notes through the whole event, so there's a lot of really good information in there.
While I'm still behind on a couple key comic series I follow, I have a good discussion of some excellent recent comics (1:40:10), with Bolero #3 definitely being my favorite of the bunch. Finally, last will be the weekly pull list, talking comics coming out the 30th of March (and DC today the 29th) 1:49:14.
The next episode will be Monday the 4th of April, talking the regular news and comics but also Moon Knight! Which premiers tomorrow, Wednesday the 30th of March. Get hyped! I'll also have the April Yancy Street Special up by the 11th of the month, covering Illyana Rasputin (AKA Magik), and a bit of Madelyne Pryor, before their important new art in starting in late-April's New Mutant's #25!
Till next time, thank you for listening, have a meditative New Moon this week, and get sweaty about your hobby of choice!

Hello and happy Spring Equinox! This is a PACKED episode after I took a bit of rest last week, so be sure to check it all out!
The News is a lot this week, so it comes in a series of categories: Women's History Month Headlines at 0:09:32, followed by TV and Movie Updates at 0:13:07 (including the animated Harley Quinn's Kite Man spin-off show, Sydney Sweeney's casting speculation for Madame Web, thoughts on the first look at She-Hulk herself, a Dragon Ball movie update, a look at the ZSJL Green lantern, and an Aadams Family Netflix Update!), then Rumors and Theories at 0:30:52 (featuring the apparent Daredevil "reboot," Kraven movie theories, an unfortunate Doctor Who rumor, and guesses on if Mace Windu will be returning or not). Then we get into trailers at 0:45:02, starting with Ms Marvel (and my admittedly stellar theory), and ending with Obi Wan Kenobi. Finally, the news finishes with comic book updates at 1:08:50, which includes the DC and Marvel Pride covers list, and the 2022 Hellfire Gala covers.
After the news, I go VERY briefly though a few comic Picks at 1:15:11, and I run through the Pulls for the coming week at 1:17:18.
Finally, this episode features the Marvel and DC comic solicitations for June 2022 at 1:21:30 and 1:31:24, respectively. Some of the highlights from Marvel include Pride Month covers, Avengers, X-Men, and Eternals begins, Daredevil restarting, an evil Spider-Man What-If series, the Hellfire Gala 2022, and mini-series' for Genis-Vell, Jane Foster, Ben Grimm, Hank Pym Ant-Man, and Black Cat! DC's headlines include a New Poison Ivy series, Rosenberg's last issue of Batman, the beginning of Dark Crisis and Queen Nubia's Reign, the annual DC Pride issues and specials, and the marriage at the end of Batman/Catwoman!
That's it for this week, next week will feature a longer discussion on the future of Poison Ivy, a segment to catch up on recent comics, and more news! There's always more to get sweaty about. See you next time!

Woohoo! At last I've caught up. Phew.
The NEWS! 2:51 Including the cast of WEIRD: the Al Yankovic Story! We also briefly cover the news of Kevin Smith's Dark Horse imprint, and Crunchyroll's absorption of Funimation's content!
If you are interested in virtually attending the Abraham Riesman "The Myth of Stan Lee" talk on 3/28 as put on by San Francisco State University (my alma mater), you can see more info at the following link: https://jewish.sfsu.edu/myth-stan-lee-conversation-abraham-riesman
The Comic book PICKS 10:02 for the week include Strange #1 (and be sure to check out Clea's special podcast episode!), Killing Time #1, She-Hulk #2, and Dark Knights of Steel #5!
Then there is our usual comic book PULLS 14:56
and finally, I wrap up with my mostly spoiler-free thoughts on Matt Reeves' THE BATMAN! 20:25 I was thrilled, what can I say. I'll take two more!
I'll be back next Monday the 14th with an all new episode! Till then, have a good week, be kind, and get sweaty!

Monday Mar 07, 2022
Do I obsess a bit over Clea? Yes. Do I try and keep it within healthy limits of fandom? Also yes. But passion still abounds, and that is why we find ourselves here.
Clea is a character with a long history at Marvel Comics, who has recently been brought into the spotlight, arguably for the first time, in her first solo series, titled STRANGE. With this in mind, and the knowledge that she will likely be making her MCU debut this May in Multiverse of Madness, I felt it was time to share what I know about Clea's character.
Starting off with her Family History 06:45, including her mother Umar and the Faltine line she comes from, and her father Orini and the Mhuruuks of the Dark Dimension.
Discussion of various other women she encounters through her journeys in the comics 15:10
Clea's Team Affiliations & Other Relationships 24:18, including allies, enemies, the Defenders, and more.
Her Personal (comic book) History 31:49, running through the important parts of her entire catalogue, hit by hit.
and finally, STRANGE 0:47:26 which I still think should have been called Supreme.
Clea's entire reading list: https://sensationalshegeek.weebly.com/archive/clea-comic-appearances-complete-reading-list

This week's regular episode starts with the news 0:03:01 as usual, including in this edition the Super Bowl Moon Knight Spot and Multiverse of Madness Trailer, and a plethora of smaller news points and rumors.
The PICKS 18:30 on this episode include comics from the weeks of Feb. 1-2, Feb. 8-9, and Feb. 15-16. A favorite of mine was the finale of Dirtbag Rapture with issue #5!
The weekly PULLS 29:04 bring a LOT to look forward to, and finally, I go over the BOOK of BOBA FETT Finale ep.7: In the Name of Honor! Whether this was a one-off season as piece of the bigger puzzle or if there's more Boba coming I'm thrilled with how this show went.
And that's it! Stay healthy, stay sweaty, have a great week.

Happy Valentine's Day, nerds! Please note the content warning for this video before listening.
Starting in at 0:09:48 with a brief history of the lovely Patsy Walker, before getting into her romance with Daimon Hellstrom, all that ensued, and her life since. We then go on to explore the relationships of...
Deathstroke and Terra 0:17:52
Carol and Marcus 0:24:44
Ray Palmer and Jean Loring 0:36:44
the Joker and Harley Quinn 0:41:08
Purple Man and Jessica Jones 0:43:59
Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne 0:45:38
Scott Summers and Madelyne Pryor 0:49:43
Betty Ross and Bruce Banner 0:54:15
Batman and Talia Al Ghul 0:57:39
Doctor Doom and Victorious 1:00:54
Clint Barton and ____ take your pick 1:04:27
Scott Summers and Emma Frost 1:05:17
Green Arrow and Black Canary 1:08:30
the Comedian and Silk Spectre 1:09:40
Both Stephen Strange and Clea & Reed Richards and Sue Storm 1:10:28
Ororo Munroe and T'Challa; Starfire and Anyone; Piotr Rasputin and Kate (Kitty) Pryde, all @ 1:13:19
And wrapping the list up with two more Marvel heroes I wouldn't recommend dating-- 1:14:51
And all of this is to say....what, exactly? That's the question. Why do our celebrated (and disgraced) comic writers continue to knowingly create this kinds of stories, these kinds of terrible relationships---specifically for our favorite superheroes to be in? Is it to show they, too, are flawed? Hardly, we see that in other ways. Is it to make them seem more real? Again, I can't say for sure. All I can do is explore these stories with you, learn from them, and aim to do (and be) better.
Stay sweaty.

G'day, listeners! Our fiftieth episode brings some pretty cool content, a year now into our show! But first, be sure to checkout my YouTube channel, where I just posted an unboxing review of the new Marvel Legends Binary figure! This is the second hero-identity for Carol Danvers, and I go over her first appearance and history a bit in the video. Linked below!
Then it's the usual News starting at 0:06:35, including an update on Moon Knight show speculation at 0:10:46, talk about Snowpiercer season 3 and the graphic novels it's loosely based off of, the confirmation of Mortal Kombat 2, and fresh news of Tom King's latest project, indie romance comics! I then present you with Netflix Live-Action He-Man & Toxic Fandom at 0:23:14, discussing the recent announcement of a new Masters of the Universe live-action movie, the previous (and delightful) Kevin Smith animated show, and the terrible behavior that spurned him from future similar projects. I love being a nerd, but there's a reason we're sometimes seen with a negative perspective, due to fans just like those.
The weekly Comic Book Picks are at 0:30:19, discussing released from the last week of January like Death of Doctor Strange's finale, the Bat/Cat special and John Paul Leon tribute, the glorious return of Saga #55 and Monstress #36, Tom King being a massive bleeding heart romantic, and more.
The Pull List for this week, Feb 1st and 2nd, starts at 0:52:47 and includes a satisfying amount of indie #1's, yet again! As well as the usual suspects.
Finally, I fully discuss the Book of Boba Fett ep. 5 starting at 1:00:42, titled Return of the Mandalorian! This discussion covers Star Wars Legends and lore, Easter eggs wazzoo, history of Mandalore, fun facts, references to the Clone Wars and Rebels TV shows as well as other Trilogy movies, and so, so much more. This was a winning episode, I don't think anyone can argue. Only two more in the season!
I'll be back for another regular weekly episode on Monday the 7th of February, covering the penultimate episode of Book of Boba Fett, the weekly comic book pick and pull lists, and if there's interest, I'd love to do a bit on Afrofuturism! Until next week, have a blessed Candlemas, and always keep it sweaty.

Tuesday Jan 25, 2022
Good morrow and happy anniversary! That's right, Sensational She-Geek Live from Yancy street has been a podcast regularly updated for one whole year! That year has found lots of change in the industry as well as personally, giving us a whopping 90 episodes, and making this the glorious 91st! So kick back and get ready to enjoy the first ever anniversary episode!
NEWS of the week actually features actual news for once, which is exciting. It includes The Batman runtime, AppleTV+'s MonsterVerse show announcement, Marvel's 2022 Women's History covers, Daredevil rebooting with #1 in June, the official green light for Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and one unjust cancellation. This all starts at 0:08:28!
the RUMORS portion of the news can be found at 0:31:02, covering the Daredevil She-Hulk rumors (and an explanation on his first-ever comic suit), and some Secret Wars speculation based off of recent leaked images.
Weekly Comic Book Picks start at 0:34:36 with a special edition discussion of the Cursed Pirate Girl saga by Jeremy Bastian! It came out with it's fifth chapter, The Devil's Cave, this past week, which led me into a deep dive on the series, which I share in summary here with you. Other Picks of the week include Bolero #1, She0Hulk #1 (of 5 :( ), Home Sick Pilots, and more.
The Weekly Comic Pull list, at 0:47:23, covers a surprising number of independent #1 comics and a few delightful comic book specials, but the best comes last (1:01:01) with a short, excited bit on the glorious return of Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples' Saga! Gone since 2018 and the hype is as big as ever.
The most recent Book of Boba Fett rundown for episode 4, The Gathering Storm, can be found at 1:03:51. I cover a brief overview of the episode's events, including more on how cool Fennec Shand is, the story of the hatred between Wookies and Trandoshans, and theories on where the final 3 episodes will be taking us--or who they'll show us.
Since they've both been released, I went ahead and covered both the Marvel (1:10:08) and DC (1:27:50) April comic book solicitations. I cover these each month because it's a good way to keep your ear to the ground as to what's going on at two of the biggest players in the geek industries, as well as to hopefully pique listeners' interests to something in those goings-on. It's also a good way to get to know common creator names in the industry!
I'll be back with another episode next week, on January 31st! We'll cover comic Picks (based off this week's Pulls) and next week's Pull list, this week's Book of Boba Fett episode 5, and anything else relevant! We're already through the first month of 2022, folks, keep it sweaty!

Welcome to the very first Yancy Street Special! This episode is all about comics from 2021, wrapping up the industry for the year and talking what was good, what was great, and and what was disappointing! Stick around to the end for my list of characters to watch in 2022 as their stories continue to progress!
The wrap-up starts with the Best Series of the year at 0:07:59, which picks up with DC comics before MARVEL at 0:24:52 and general "INDIES" at 0:32:16.
There is even a short section on the Best of Future State starting at 0:44:43,
Best Writers begin at 0:47:29, then there's the (Interior) Artist list at 0:53:50 and the (Cover) Artist list at 0:57:02.
#1 One-Shots/Single Issues can be found at 1:00:07, and Excellent Starts for series that will mainly be in 2022 is at 1:04:09; Breakout Names on my personal comic book radar are at 1:04:39, and then we have the annual Disappointments, found at 1:07:48, talking things that just weren't what we hoped they'd be.
Finally, Characters to watch in 2022 begins at 1:14:30 with a list of (admittedly mostly female) characters who will be popping up in important ways in the comics industry through this year! Don't miss out on them!
This episode is made available to Patrons starting Tuesday, Jan. 18th, and will be made public starting Friday the 21st. The next Yancy Street Special will cover everything about She-Hulk in preparation for her Disney+ show and her new comic series!

Late episode for good reasons! The News and Rumors: is Gunn directing Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy's onscreen team-up? Multiverse of Madness Cameo Rumor Roundup! Clea/Theron Casting Rumors; and a bit of my own speculation on who "She-Hulk's Best Friend" is, as being played by Ginger Gonzaga in the upcoming Disney+ show!
Comic Book Pick list at 0:22:49, including a brief history of the Bloodstone clan, two excellent indie premieres and two mediocre ones, an uncanny number of things written by Chip Zdarsky, the final issue of Marauders, and more!
Comic Book Pulls for this week at 0:36:21, where I'm mostly excited about the premier of She-Hulk's new series! Which, by the way, I have a MASSIVE Intro to Jen Walters/She-Hulk Yancy Street Special episode coming up this weekend!
A discussion of Book of Boba Fett episode 3, "the Streets of Mos Espa," goes along with an explanation of the Nightsisters of Dathomir, in Legends as well as Canon!
Finally, after Monday's blessed Moon Knight trailer premier, the episode wraps up with a some brief speculation on what direction the show will be taking, based off of comic knowledge. If you want a more in-depth explanation of Moon Knight (and Marc Spector), check out the Disney+ Day segment on this podcast, episode 41A!

Happy Monday friends! This week's big catch-up episode starts with news as usual (0:07:17), but most of this news is rumors and speculation, including talk of the Batgirl movie, the Marvels, Wakanda Forever, and of course, Multiverse of Madness.
Covering two week's of comics, some of the stars of my pick list discussion include Harley Quinn #10, Death of Doctor Strange #4, Dark Knights of Steel #3, Dirtbag Rapture #4, and more! The first week of comics is at 0:27:02, the second starts at 0:40:48, and this week's pull list, including so many #1's!, is at 0:51:43.
Finally, the main event is my Book of Boba Fett episode 1 and 2 discussions. The first was an amazing start, but I liked the second even more. At the end, I talk a fair amount about the metaphor of the Tusken Raiders and what their handling between Mando and Book of Boba very relevantly displays--all tied up with Morrison's Maori heritage.
The next podcast episode will be the Best of Comics 2021 podcast special, coming this week! It's done, it's ready to record, let's see if I get it out on time! sad laugh. But in all seriousness, I'll have another Monday episode up on Monday the 17th, covering more comics, more rumors, and more Book of Boba!

Monday Dec 13, 2021
It's a rainy Monday around here, I hope your week is off to a solid start!
Today's episode begins as usual with News, broken up into four sections: Trailers 0:10:40, Movie/TV Updates 0:17:40, General Industry News 0:27:50, and Rumors 0:45:31. Trailers include the first look at Naomi, and a few new clips of Matt Reeves' upcoming The Batman movie, brought to you by a trailer from Warner Japan. Movie and TV updates features bits on The Marvels, the Gotham PD Reeves spinoff show, Shang-Chi, and Netflix's Cowboy Bebop. General Industry News covers the newly announced Wonder Woman video game, and what we know of Marvel in March, specifically Captain Carter, Destiny of X, and most importantly, Immortal X-Men. And finally, rumors goes over the potential The Losers Amazon show, everything you wanted to know about Phyla Vell possibly coming to the MCU, and more on that Shuri (Wakanda Forever) situation.
I only had a handful of comic book picks to talk about this week 0:53:13, which were Dark Knights of Steel #2, Inferno #3, Hellions #18 (the series finale and the return of Madelyne Pryor, Goblin Queen!), Devil's Reign #1, and Daisy #1 from Dark Horse, which tbh I forgot to go back to and discuss, but was fantastic.
I run through this week's pull list 1:09:30 pretty quick so I can get to the Hawkeye episode four discussion! 1:17:21 As usual, I cover all the easter eggs, hidden details, character references, comic origin material, and every bit of speculation I felt worthy of my time, including one or two theories that I'm personally banking on pretty hard.
The next episode is gonna be a big'un, as it'll cover not only this Wednesday's Hawkeye Episode 5, but my spoiler review of Spider-Man: No Way Home! hat's as well as the regular picks and pulls from new comic book day, and relevant industry news, too. Marvel and DC March 2022 solicitations coming soon! My first special edition episode will be coming around the end of the year, featuring my personal Best in Comics 2021 list! So much goodness to come, so be sure to check back weekly, and never feel ashamed to get sweaty over your hobbies!

Hello, world! This week I'm starting a new format for the podcast episodes. For the foreseeable future, regular episodes will be posted weekly on Mondays, with any additional episodes covering special features relating to comics history, relevant characters, or whatever else you want to hear about! Start sending me ideas!
The week's news starts at 0:08:15 kicking off with Lost in Space season 3, which is on Netflix in it's entirety! There is a lengthy discussion of the brief Spider-Verse sequel teaser, titled Across the Spider-Verse! I'm talking Web of Destiny, Inheritors, 2099, and more! I have two big MCU theories lined up at 0:17:36, followed by a really big, very official MCU announcement! The news is wrapped up with an overview of the She-Hulk update at 0:21:03, which leads her into her new series, coming next month.
The comic book picks from last week start at 0:22:44, and the bulk of the discussion focuses on Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons #1, which was indescribably impressive and moving. I get to Animal Castle at 0:36:30, my second favorite pick of the week! Plus a whole lot of other reads from the past week, of course.
Pulls for this week are found at 0:50:23, including a number of #1's as well as the return of Madelyne Pryor, the penultimate Hickman work for Marvel's X-Men, and a new era and creative team for Batman!
You can listen to the Hawkeye episode 3 discussion at 0:57:10, going over the episode called Echoes. I point out comic book connections, theories, Easter eggs, and more as we go over this exciting, fast-paced episode.
We wrap it all up with a very brief look at the recently closed arc of Young Justice, which starred some favorite oft-overlooked female characters, and featured an oddly positive retelling of a Killing Joke.
I'll be back for a regular episode next Monday the 13th of December, covering Hawkeye episode 4, the week's comic book picks, the news, and anything else that hits my radar! In the meantime, send me those special edition episode requests and have a killer week!

Monday Nov 29, 2021
Big Greetings on this Big Monday Episode! I took last week off for "Fall Break," but we're back today with a seriously oversized podcast episode! Stick around, cause there's a lot to catch!
We start is off with the news as usual (0:14:13), covering a number of smaller No Way Home updates before getting into one very big and very exciting Spider-Man franchise update (0:18:27)! After the news of Matt Reeves' The Batman runtime, we go on to briefly discuss the Super Crooks Netflix Anime from Millar-World (0:24:52), and finish off the news with talk on the cancellation of Luke Cage: City of Fire, and why that is such a poor decision for Marvel to apparently have made ( 0:27:05).
We have two big comic book segments today, the first being the weekly Pick list for comics that came out last week, on the 23rd and 24th. At the top of the list sits John Ridley's Black Panther #1, Jed McKay's Death of Doctor Strange #3, and the final issue of Hickman/Huddleston's Decorum. Admittedly, I also spend some time complaining about the new X-Men run, t the end (0:44:31). For the pull list for this week's comics (0:49:30), I'm looking forward to a number of #1's, one-shots, anniversary issues, and final issues, among others. It's a big week for comics, for sure!
The massive, all-inclusive Hawkeye discussion (1:07:52) certainly has more information than you need to know, with episode 2 kicking in at 1:28:04. I've also compiled a list of all the points (I have 8 groupings) the show has taken from the 2012 Matt Fraction/David Aja Hawkeye comic book series, for which neither creator has been given any credit for (1:38:29). In my opinion, designers of stories that re turned into other major media ought to be paid the way any costume or set designers would be.
After Hawkeye is my thoughts on the Netflix live action Cowboy Bebop show (1:43:25), which are mostly positive! I haven't finished it, but I'm enjoying it so far.
Finally, to mark the holiday that passed us by last week, I put together a discussion of 1989-1990's She-Hulk: Ceremony (1:46:56). It covers a lot of topics relevant to our modern world, many of which I go into depth on in my written discussion, which can be found on my website blog, linked below. I cover the general plot of the story, the legendary feud between Ceremony writer Brian McDuffie and Sensational She-Hulk writer John Byrne (1:50:37), and finally, the one, the only, Wyatt Wingfoot! 1:58:38 Wingfoot is a character with old, strong ties between himself and Johnny Storm and the Fantastic Four, Jen Walters, Black Panther, and other major marvel heroes. He's chief of his Keewazi tribe from Oklahoma, a proven warrior, empath, and thinker, and is one of my best guesses at characters soon to be introduced to the MCU! You can check out this discussion for his character history, relevant ties, where he was inspired from, and anything else you could possibly want to know about Wyatt Wingfoot!
I'll be back with the next podcast episode Friday the 3rd (or September the 4th) covering the Wednesday episode of Hawkeye, comic book picks for the week, and any other news, which I'm sure there will be plenty of! Stay warm and dry, keep it sweaty, and try not to cast judgement.

Happy Friday, all!
This week's News starts at 0:09:28 with some brief reminders (like Cowboy Bebop and Hawkeye!) before getting into some casting and other show news.
Comic Picks start at 0:17:03, focusing mainly on #PoisonIvyWatch, which seems to wrap up this arc of her character's story.
Tuesday's No Way Home trailer is briefly mentioned at 0:39:40, but I'll warn you now, I wasn't thrilled.
I talk about Marvel Comics coming in FEBRUARY 2022 at 0:41:27, and DC Comics in FEBRUARY 2022 at 1:00:54!
I'll be back Monday, November 22nd to talk comic book pull list, Cowboy Bebop thoughts, and whatever hits the news between now and then!
Monday Nov 15, 2021
Monday Nov 15, 2021
Late Monday episode, but it's here! Kicking off with a plethora of MCU rumors and news at 0:09:53, including additional news on Star Wars Projects, Henry Cavill roles, and speculation on Barry Keoghan's (Druig from Eternals) role in Matt Reeve's The Batman. The two-issue pick list for the week sits at 0:28:53, covering my intense enthusiasm for My Date With Monsters #1 and Batman: Imposter #2. This week's comic book pull list can be found at 0:33:39, going in-depth with the #1's and one-shots of the week, Batman Secret Files: The Gardener, Vampirella Holiday Special 2021, Radio Apocalypse, and Wonder Woman: Evolution! On to the main event: Disney+ Day coverage at 0:40:04! I start it off with a solemn reminder that we are in late stage capitalism and corporations are evil by definition, so keep that in mind while we celebrate some of these amazing projects. For the 3 upcoming shows we got new "first looks" of, I've gone into some intense comic book history, explaining the origins, special characteristics, and history of She-Hulk (0:41:23), Moon Knight (0:50:53), and Ms Marvel (0:58:23). The rest of the Disney+ Day announcements are covered at 1:04:40, including Obi-Wan Kenobi, Marvel Zombies, What If...? Season 2, I Am Groot (with Groot's publication history), animated newcomer X-Men '97, Echo (focusing on deaf indigenous character Maya Lopez), Agatha: House of Darkness (with some delightful topic speculation), Ironheart, Armor Wars, animated Spider-Man Freshman Year, and the long-awaited Secret Invasion. I'll be back this Friday the 19th with comic book picks, Doom Patrol Season 3 finale, this arc of Young Justice, #PoisonIvyWatch, and n doubt more news! Have a great week and remember to be mindful of others while you keep it sweaty!
