Hello and welcome back!
News, brief discussions of Hellraiser 2022, Werewolf by Night, and the latest episode of House of the Dragon. My first Manga Spotlight segment, covering volume 1 of Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku (12:15).
Coverage for NYCC 2022 includes (16:53) Show and Movie Updates, Trailers, and clips (18:13), DC Comics announcements (28:02), and then Marvel Comics (32:39) news.
While I'm skipping picks for the week, this week's Pulls (40:29) of comics out this week of the 12th include a great deal of fun issues across many different publishers.
The penultimate She-Hulk episode, 50:59 episode 8, was titled Ribbit and Rip It, an featured none other than Matt Murdock, Daredevil! A un episode, but there are still questions. Here's the referenced Collider article: https://collider.com/she-hulk-intelligencia-scariest-mcu-villain/
Finally, Rings of Power episode 7 (1:06:13) was the penultimate for that series, as well, and most of what we have now is questions. Who is anyone?!?
I'll be back with more comics and culture next week, covering the finales of She-Hulk and Rings of Power, and more sweaty comic content!

This episode is full of exciting news, speculation, and more, so stick around! Podcast notes to read along with this episode: http://sensationalshegeek.weebly.com/full-archive/ep80-wakanda-forever-trailer-werewolf-by-night-the-last-airbender-6seasonsandamovie-rings-of-power-udun-more
There is a LOT of News this go round, starting off with discussion of Werewolf By Night, premiering this Friday, October 7th, on Disney+. I talk cast and characters, comic origins, and the future of the MCU as we know it! There's also a brief "This Month (October) In Comics" (0:11:24), going over some highlights for various publishers across the coming month. The latest trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (0:17:03) had a good deal to unravel, but it's only making me more excited for November's movie! Then there's the announcement of Wolverine in Deadpool 3 (0:30:24), and what it might mean; Community's prophecy (0:33:06) of Six Seasons and a Movie; and Sony's announcement of their "modern" Tarzan (0:38:03). But wait, there's more! Netflix's live-action Avatar show casting announcements (0:39:03) bring an enormously exciting group of Asian stars to our screens, and finally, MCU news by way of Blade Movie Updates (0:45:50), and an update on the Armor Wars project.
Comic book Picks (0:49:25) from the week of September 28th are fairly brief, followed by this week's comic book Pulls (0:54:28) for the week of October 5th. I could never cover everything that comes out each week or month, so be sure to check out your local comic retailers to see what other suggestions they may have for you.
The latest episode of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law (Ep. 7 1:05:58), the Retreat, was definitely a step in the right direction, but two episodes out from the finale, still leaves me with a frustrating amount of questions. Not plot questions, mostly, just....why they made certain decisions, creatively. I'm curious ho these points are settling with other viewers.
Finally, saving potentially the most exciting for last, Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power episode 6 (1:17:38) discussion is FULL of episode spoilers, theories, questions, and general happiness about this show! Two more episodes here, too, so check back for coverage as they come out!
Be sure to listen to the September Yancy Street Special, out later this week, featuring DC Comics' Green Lantern, Jessica Cruz! I hope you learn to love her as much as I do. Until next time, have a fantastic week of this fall season! Keep it sweaty.

Happy Fall, y'all! Let's get into it. Podcast Notes for following along this episode: http://sensationalshegeek.weebly.com/full-archive/ep79-the-last-of-us-namor-born-again-speculation-she-hulk-attorney-at-law-rings-of-power-show-updates-and-easter-eggs
For this week's news (0:05:40), I cover the Last of Us show trailer, the Doom Patrol season four announcement (0:13:06), Keanu Reeves' Constantine movie sequel (0:18:35), Namor News in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (0:24:09), and speculation based around Daredevil: Born Again show casting (0:28:47).
Comic Book Picks (0:32:44) from the week of the 21st feature both highs and lows, and the comic book pulls (0:43:44) for this week are organized by publisher.
The latest episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was episode 6 (0:56:07), and put me in a weird place mentally about the show. You can check in here to hear my full arguments, but I'm frankly disappointed by what we've seen so far.
On the other hand, Rings of Power Ep's 1-5 are also discussed, with much more excitement. There's no grand summary of events of each episode, it's more observations, Easter eggs, and noteworthy moments. Full disclosure: I'm LOVING this one.
Finally, I get around to talking the Harley Quinn season 3 finale (1:18:10), and what might be coming in season 4. Long Live Harley Quinn! On that note, check out the stories in her 30th Anniversary by Sejic, Garcia, and Dini! Top tier, IMO.
I'll be back this coming week for more talk of comics, pop culture, and shows to discuss! Keep an eye out for the September Yancy Street Special, coming next week on Jessica Cruz, DC Comics' Green Lantern!

After taking a few weeks off, we're back! And just in time for the start of Autumn. Podcast Notes for this episode to "read along:" http://sensationalshegeek.weebly.com/full-archive/ep78-the-return-she-hulk-catch-up-star-wars-and-dc-productions-news-cavill-rumors-doctor-who-and-more
This episode's News begins with a few personal notes, before getting into the good news about Brendan Fraser in the Whale (0:11:21), then a few points of Star Wars (0:14:31), including the new Princess and the Scoundrel book and a sad note about Patty Jenkins' Rogue Squadron. DC News includes the Harley Quinn Show (0:18:40) and a DC Productions Update, plus more Henry Cavil Rumors (0:23:32), a bit on Doctor Who (0:27:54), and of course, the Weird Al trailer.
Coverage of this year's D23 Expo (0:33:17) is broken down into sections for the Trailers, General News, then Lucasfilms News (0:41:34) and MCU News!
Since the long break, we have comic book Picks covering the weeks of the 31st, the 7th, and the 14th (0:51:06), and comic book pulls for this week, that of the 21st, follow (1:05:58).
Finally, while I have a number of shows to do catch-up coverage of, this episode features the missed She Hulk: Attorney At Law (1:15:32) episodes, #'s three, four, and five. don't miss the sixth this week, out on Thursday the 22nd! This is out of nine total episodes, so we're starting to see the finish line.
That's all for this week, keep checking back for more show and comic updates in the comic week!

Monday Aug 29, 2022
The News on this episode kicks off with the delightful announcement of a "Photon" Monica Rambeau comic series (0:06:45), coming this December! That's followed by talk of the Umbrella Academy season four, and news on not one but two unrelated King Kong projects! I readdress the Batgirl movie situation (0:28:19) as we know it, along with some other DC film delays, and a little info on a meeting regarding the future of their Flashpoint movie. House of the Dragon episode 2 (0:36:24) is briefly discussed, and the News wraps up with some relevant and exciting highlights to look forward to in the month of September (0:39:43), including events, upcoming announcements, and new writers for the Avengers AND Fantastic Four series! Plus, be sure to check out the link below on November comics! Preorders are due in to your local comic shop by September 18th.
Comic Book Picks (0:45:38) for the week of the 24th had a ton of great indie material to cover, plus another issue of Judgement Day, and wonderful Caitlin Yarsky interiors of Olympus: Rebirth! This week's Comic Book Pulls (0:53:28) coming out this last week of August are much lighter on the indie end, but have some very exciting DC ladies' Annuals, and the premier of the new Thunderbolts team!
I go over She-Hulk ep. 2, titled Superhuman Law (0:58:09) in full, focusing more this week on comic references (who was Pug?) and Easter eggs, not to mention theories on where Jen is going to take the big case from here! Make sure to check out the She-Hulk Companion Special, as well, which features over two-and-a-half hours of absolutely everything you ever wondered about Marvel's Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk!
Finally, I briefly go over Harley Quinn Ep. 7 (1:13:08), titled Another Sharkley Adventure. It was a particularly ridiculous episode, dare I say filler? But left me excited to see more, as usual.
Next week will bring episode 78, covering the news, the comics, al the usual goodies, but also pre-D23 Expo coverage, and the convention will be happening that weekend!

Welcome to the August Yancy Street Special: the She-Hulk Companion! The culmination of months of research on Jennifer Walters of Marvel Comics. Let's jump right in!
To better follow along, and for links referenced in this episode, check out the podcast notes for this special, linked [here], and this episode's Image Post is Here!
*Note: this special is chock-full of information, and will therefore be often referencing itself as I go along. The usual links to jump to specific sections of the podcast are in the description, but be advised that this has been put together with the intention of being listened to in full, front to back.
Starting off, we have the obvious questions of "Why are we doing this?/Why was she created?" (0:03:29), followed by information on her First Appearance and Key Comic Issues.
Jen's She-Hulk Series' and major features through the years (0:08:28) and One-shots!
Her Characterization (0:24:45) Then versus Now, including the duality of She-Hulk, controversies surrounding John Byrne and (on a lesser scale) Dan Slott, and on a better note, the characterization of Jennifer Walters: Legal Eagle.
Jen and She-Hulk's powers & abilities (0:42:49), which is followed by her roles and occupations.
All of her different forms of physical appearance (0:48:28), then her costumes/fashion through the years, including in all of those different forms!
The illusive tie with Jen and the Immortal Hulks (0:56:19), followed by other aliases & nicknames, bases of operations, alternate realities' She-Hulk's, and then related characters.
Jen's relationships (1:14:11), including family, friends and allies, love interests, and of course, her enemies.
She-Hulk's (and Jen's) team affiliations (1:37:32) through the years...
Jennifer Walters' FULL character history (1:45:27) and appearances as She-Hulk...
A few more personal notes (2:04:09), including things I noticed while doing all this research, clip from an essay of sorts I wrote on Jen and Carol a few years back (which can be found here), and the question of why IS Jen's She-Hulk designed as so much smaller than Bruce's? Spoiler alert: there isn't really a firm answer to that one, whoops!
…and finally, some She-Hulk: Attorney At Law show predictions (2:11:58), including characters we might see, and my full rundown of the first episode (as taken from Yancy St. Ep. 76). Be sure to check in to Episode 77 of the regular podcast to hear about episode 2's comic references and ensuing speculation!

Nichelle Nichols Tribute, Day Shift, I am Groot, Moonhaven, Doctor Who, Heavy Metal Productions, Iron Heart and Red Hood, Yellowjacket-turned-MODOK, Madame Web casting rumors, and of course, that whole mess of Warner/Discovery basically resetting their entire production list.
Comic Book Picks from the 3rd nd 10th of August (0:42:55), including Poison Ivy, Immortal X-Men, Judgement Day, the new DCeased, Astronaut Down, and so many more! Likewise, there are a good amount of comics on my Pull List for this week (1:05:04), but be sure to check out your local comic shop for all the details on the full week of releases!
Harley Quinn season 3 episodes four and five (1:14:06), titled A Thief, a Mole, an Orgy, then It's a Swamp Thing, respectively.
Finally, I have She-Hulk prep(1:16:58), covering what we KNOW, what we DON'T know, and what the biggest theories are! We're talking potential love interests, timeline placement, characters, easter eggs, predictions, potential enemies and allies, and so much more! Including how this could tie into World War Hulk, when that comes out!
Be sure to check out August's Yancy Street Special, covering everything you ever wanted to know about She-Hulk, Jennifer Walters! I've been working on it for months now, doing research, reading, and compiling notes, so I'm super excited to finally reveal my hard work! Keep an eye out for it before episode 76 premiers next week, and be sure to check out She-Hulk: Attorney At Law this Thursday on Disney+!

Better late than never! When life gives you lemons, make a podcast, just later than usual.
For this week's News, we talk Belle (which is on HBO Max), Paper Girls (on Amazon), and the Sandman (on Netflix), all of which a re new premiers in the past week or so! I found a cop; thread on Namor's MCU costume design on Twitter so we go over that goodness, then some brief DCEU project updates (which may change again soon for all we know), Marvel's Fantastic Four plans, the latest She-Hulk featurette, and the exciting new Andor trailer!
The past week's comic book Picks (34:13) start with my VERY mixed feelings for Strange #4, but then VERY positive for the #2's of Public Doman, the Variants, and Sins of the Black Flamingo, plus Christopher Priest's Vampirella: Year One #1.
Subsequently, this week's comic book Pulls (47:05) feature a LOT of new things, which is super exciting, and a few ongoing classics. Again, these are just a cross section of weekly Wednesday releases, so check out your local comic shop to see what else comes out that I don't discuss!
Finally, we end with the Harley Quinn season 3 Premier (59:11), covering the first three episodes: Harlivy, There's No Ivy in Team, and the 83rd Annual Villy Awards! It's good to have this one back, and we'll be continuing to cover it as the show goes on each week! Harvey Guillen's Nightwing has already gone down as absolutely legendary, I loved it!
I'll be back the week of Monday the 8th to cover the new week of comic picks and pulls, episode 4 of the Harley Quinn show, and all this crazy Warner/Discovery....stuff, which is still unfolding. Have a nice week, stay hydrated, and enjoy comics!

So much to talk about this week after Comic Con San Diego! We'll cover it all in due time, but check the time stamps if you want to skip to anything in particular!
This week's non-Convention News (0:08:55) starts with the tragic passing of comics' Alan Grant, and has a few fun smaller points, but I think the bulk of the interest will be found with Marvel's new title trademarks (0:23:51) and what it all might mean! Also, there is no "The Mutants."
The week's comic book Picks (0:28:58) for the 20th of July had Grim #3 and Seven Sons #2 as the picks of the week by far, with Artemis: Wanted #1 as a close third! And this brilliant era of indie comics continues with this week's Pulls (0:34:08), comics for this week, the 27th of July.
My extensive San Diego Comic Con 2022 rundown begins at 0:44:55, starting with comic book updates, because thy still do actually cover comics themselves at these big events, go figure! My most anticipated announcements are Tradd Moore's Doctor Strange and Johnathon Hickman's triumphant return to the Marvel cosmos! The various trailers from the event begin at 59:20 and start off with the DCEU, specifically Sandman (we're adding it in here at least), Black Adam, and Shazam: Fury of the Gods. The Marvel MCU starts at 1:05:22 with the I am Groot teaser trailer, before really knocking it out of the park with Wakanda Forever at 1:07:26. That one is followed by She-Hulk, and then we get into Star Trek, Animation, and all the rest!
Still talking SDCC22, the new MCU Updates start with 1:59:03, including the rest of phase 4, the plan for phase 5, and the current agenda for phase 6, plus all the news and updates for projects near and far! The convention rundown ends 2:09:45 with Games, Toys, and the Rest of the News!
Announced at the con, actually, I also have an Eisner's Recap! 2:13:09 the Eisner awards are the most prestigious awards in the comic book creation industry, and the winners are well worth crediting and celebrating. Congrats to all winner and nominees!
We wrap up this long week with highlights of the October Big-Two Solicits, 2:19:00 (link to full will go here).
I'll be back next week for the first episode of August, 74! As She-Hulk gets closer along with all those other newly announced goodies, the news and updates are only going to get more exciting. Stay hydrated in this summer heat wave, and stay sweaty about comics!

It's another fantastic week for comic lovers and nerds! Con season has officially begun, which means we'll have some great news content going forward!
This week's News (0:05:10) starts off a little rough with Rob Zombie's the Munsters trailer, but gets some heat with the Red Band Harley Quinn the Animated Series HBO Max trailer, when I have to give due credit to Kaley Cuoco, Independent Woman. Then it's on to the new Rings of Power trailer (0:15:06), which as a lifelong Tolkien fan, I'm SUPER excited for, so I break down the trailer and coming show a bit. But I also have to mention the fact that a lot of other fans seem to really hate the whole idea of this show, which is honestly sad to see. Then (0:31:28) we wrap up news with a bit on Daniel Kaluuya's live action Barney project (yes, really...apparently), the first look at Iron Heart in Wakanda Forever, and some more... Sinister rumors, wink wink.
Comic book Picks from the week of the 13th (0:35:12) were quite up and down. My pick of the week is definitely Archaia's (through Boom! Studios) Flavor Girls #1, by Loïc Locatelli-Kournwsky! Aaand I also had to mention the disappointment of the Hellfire Gala, 2022. How do you give the most R-rated group in the Marvel comics universe a boring "Met Gala?" Go figure.
This week's comic book Pulls (0:47:12) incude my brief wrapping up of Trial of the Amazons, and on the more positive side, excitement on Seven Sons #2, Grim #3, and SO many indie series' kicking!
And of course, I go in-depth on the Ms Marvel Finale (1:01:25), titld NoNormal! I go over not just the episode, but Kamala's Big News, explore that end credits scene (and how I don't think ANY of us know!), talk theories on introducing more *spoilers* after this, what the series DIDN'T answer, Iman Appreciation, and: what comes next in the MCU, including theories and more!
This week's regular episode ends with a San Diego Comic Con 2022 Preview (1:38:34), based on some MAYBE leaks on what's coming for the Marvel panel/s. It also includes a brief bit on what we MIGHT be learning at Disney's D23 Expo, this September.
And that's it! Until next week, when we'll go over the regular material plus what actually IS revelealed at SDCC, make sure you drink an exuberant amount of water during this global heat-wave, and take care!

Tuesday Jul 12, 2022
This is such a fun week for comics and comic media, with movie premiers, show finales, brilliant independent comic book series', and a cautious sense of excitement for next week's big (and hopefully not as chaotic as Anime Expo) San Diego Comic Con!
As usual we kick it off this week with the News (0:04:38), which includes Echo (Disney+)Show updates, a new Punchline (DC) comics series, the RWBY/Justice League animated movie, leaks for both Loki Season 2 and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, a director for the fourth Captain America movie, and some light news on what to expect at San Diego Comic Con 2022--which we'll preface more in-depth on the next episode!
Last week's Comic Book Picks (0:21:22) was actually super DC-Heavy, for once, with no Marvel comics on my list at all! My picks of the week would be Astronaut Down #2 (Aftershock), Liam Sharp's Starhenge #1 (Image), and Poison Ivy #2 (DC); I continue to adore Pamela Isley, and refuse to see her as the bad guy. The two indies of that trio are wildly creative, and I honestly can't recommend them enough. We're in what I don't hesitate to call a Golden Era of Indie(ish) Comics!
This week's Comic Book Pulls (0:36:04), in reverse, is absent of DC for my list, but includes some seriously heavy duty, amazing variant covers coming from Marvel--be sure to check out all the available covers of this week's New Mutants, A.X.E.: Eve of Judgment, X-Men: Hellfire Gala, Captain Marvel, and Immortal X-Men. Some of my favorite comic artists are included among those stunners, plus one truly awesome homage variant! And that's not even to mention the many incredible indie/creator owned comics premiering and continuing this week, as well. Remember what I just said about a Golden Age of Indies? Mhmm.
Getting into other media, coverage of Ms Marvel (Disney+)episode 5 (0:49:07), titled Time and Again, includes theories about the finale, carefully hopeful expectations, and of course, all the comic book references from the penultimate episode.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds episode 10 (0:58:43), titled A Quality of Mercy, was a fantastic finale for the show's first season, giving us time travel, life lessons, Original Series references, and a cocky young James Tiberius Kirk! I don't know when season 2 arrives, but I am SO ready!
Finally, of course I'm including my Thor: Love and Thunder Spoiler Free Review (1:11:05) in this episode, but be warned, because it's quite short, and immediately followed by the Spoiler Review! I had a lot of fun making this one, because it includes comic book references, Norse mythology, Easter eggs, connections to the greater MCU, the music, the end credits scenes explained, and theorizing for the future of the characters!
As promised, the Love and Thunder basic plot overview: https://www.ign.com/articles/thor-love-thunder-ending-explained-post-credits-scene
The Collider article on the movie's music: https://collider.com/thor-love-and-thunder-guns-n-roses-influence/
Make sure you're back next week for coverage on the Ms Marvel finale, the new comic book picks and pulls for the week, a Hellfire Gala wrap-up for Marvel, pre-SDCC (July 21-24), and maybe even October's big-two comic book solicitation! Till then, stay hydrated, do some light stretches in the morning, and support your local comic shops!

Welcome to the June Yancy Street Special: The Patsy Walker Hellcat Story! Why? Christopher Cantwell's Iron Man (2020) series has featured Patsy as a regular co-star, culminating in the two heroes starting a relationship, and Stark eventually proposing to Walker. Check out Iron Man #20 and Iron Man/Hellcat Annual #1 for how that turns out! Meanwhile, I can guarantee there's SOMETHING about comics in this podcast that will be new to you, so don't miss out! Patsy has been around since 1944, making her one of the oldest characters at Marvel Comics today, predating Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, and even the first Avengers team.
Of course, as she is another complex female comic book character, this patsy podcast comes with some serious warnings. Content Warnings: suicide, mental health, exploitation, narcissism, cheating, gaslighting, attempted sacrifice, etc.
If you want to see the written list of KEYS 0:08:33, Recommended Reading, and Hellcat Aliases with their origins, check out the coinciding blog post on my site (no ads!), here. Also be sure to check out the Image Post that goes along with this episode, linked here.
Patsy's Hellcat has been on a bunch of different teams through the decades, so that is covered at 0:16:09.
An extensive look at Patsy's Friends and Allies 0:25:05, including family, features characters from her days under the Timely flag, as well as later in the main 616 universe, through to modern times.
A short (ish) list of Patsy's Love Interests 0:50:30 and Enemies 0:56:23 follow, and you'll notice there is a LOT of crossover between those two lists.
Then it's on to her Powers 1:00:30, Costumes 1:03:48, and some fun Taglines and Quotes 1:14:08 from her vast comic history!
Finally, I cover the Other Realities 1:16:41 Patsy appears in, including media like TV and Games.
At last, we reach Patsy's FULL HISTORY 1:23:02 including her Pre-Marvel 616 Comic History; Patsy coming to the main 616; Patsy as Hellcat, the Defender and Avenger; the changes of her life once she meets Daimon Hellstrom; and the modern history from Hellcat (2000) and on.
I wrap this baby up with my final thoughts 1:51:15 on Patsy's tumultuous, extended history, summarizing all that she's come to represent and stand for, as further questions about her character that I'd like addressed in the future.

Welcome to Summer! Don't go out and get hot in the sun, stay in and get sweaty with the Yancy Street Podcast! (was that too much?) ;)
This week does start with another tribute to another lost legend in the comics industry, Tim Sale (0:04:46). His legacy covers decades of comics and some of the eras' most significant material, to say the least. This tribute includes statements from his fellow creators, honoring his long-lived career.
As for the rest of the news (0:14:47), the general topics include Spy Kids, Madame Web, and Comic Con 2022!
The previous week's comic book Picks (0:22:24) include Immortal X-Men #3 as Pick of the Week, plus a number of fun others! This week's comic book Pulls (0:29:58) have a bunch of #1's and one-shots, again; all a ton to look forward to reading!
Starting the other media, I cover the Obi-Wan Kenobi Finale (38:52), or episode 6, by going through the various characters and where they all end up: Reva, the Twins, Vader V Kenobi, That Ending, and, of course, What Comes Next!
Then it's on to Ms Marvel episode 3 (47:53), titled Destined. I cover the events of the episode including all the big reveals, how they connect to the comics, and what that might mean for not just the rest of the show, but the future the Marvels movie!
Finally, I do a Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Catch-Up (1:03:08), covering episodes 6-8, titled Lift Us Where Suffering Cannot Reach, The Serene Squall, and The Elysian Kingdom, respectively. All three episodes have something in common-- Classic Trek themes that made the show a success to begin with, and keep fans like me coming back!
This being the last week of June, expect the June Yancy Street Podcast to come out within the next week: The Patsy Podcast! AKA the Patsy Walker/Hellcat Story! Unless you're Christopher Cantwell (her current, IMO excellent writer), there's probably something in it you didn't know about her character, because she's one of Marvel's oldest!
In addition, I'll be posting about the September Marvel and DC comic book solicitations....which might end up being a blog post, in which case it will be linked here when posted: http://sensationalshegeek.weebly.com/full-archive/september-2022-comic-book-solicitations-marvel-and-dc-comics
Other than that, you'll find me next back with regular weekly episode 70 this coming Monday, July 4th! In the meantime, Hydrate, Hippies, and enjoy your nerdy passions as Summer starts to peak. Just a few weeks till Love and Thunder, if that's your thing!

I'm back! My health took a turn for a bit there (see the ending of the podcast for details, if you want), and I had to take some time off all forms of work. But for the sake of getting something out, I'm posting this one without a Kenobi or Strange New Worlds discussion--check back on Monday the 27th for that! Otherwise...
News at 0:07:52 talking some basic updates and fun reminders, then touching on a whole bunch of announcements: the Black Adam trailer, the Thunderbolts movie, Doctor Who 60th, Joker 2 (ugh), Game of Thrones, Wonder Man, Venom 3, the Penguin, Hercules, new Avatar movies, and the future of the MCU!
Comic book picks from the weeks of June 8th and 15th at 0:45:00, including Poison Ivy #1, Iron Man #20, and more, plus my top pick of both weeks: Seven Sons #1 of 7, from Image!
Skipping over Kenobi for this one episode (we'll cover him on Ep 69, don't worry!), we discuss the finale of Young Justice, season 4, at 1:10:00, plus where I think the show will be going with season 5. Then, at last, we have the first two episodes of Ms Marvel! Episode One at 1:18:28 and two at 1:31:00. Episode 3 will be covered, like Kenobi, on episode 69. For now, these show discussions are full of all kinds of Easter eggs, comics references, and fun theories!
I'll be back for episode 69 of the Yancy Street podcast this coming Monday the 27th, talking the Kenobi finale, episode 3 of Ms Marvel, what I've missed from Strange New Worlds, plus news, picks and pulls, and maybe even September big-two solicitations! It's all coming!

Tuesday Jun 07, 2022
Funny story! This was recorded on Monday afternoon, per usual, and then I promptly forgot about actually posting it, and now it's Tuesday...whoops! Anyway--
Starting up with the NEWS 0:07:24, with just a chunk of shorter items, including a few updates and first looks on upcoming projects! Also, I recently watched The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and I genuinely don't think I've laughed that hard in a movie in a long time. 10/10.
This past week's comic book PICKS 0:14:36, including highlights of Strange #3, the latest Captain Marvel, Road to Dark Crisis, Marvel's Voices: Identity, and more!
This week's comic book PULLS 0:26:05 have a surprising amount from DC Comics, and a ton of #1's and one-shots! I know there's a fair amount I'm picking up on after recording, so be sure to check out all of what your local shop gets in this week!
Obi-Wan Kenobi season 1 episode 3 0:40:40, talking part III's lies, reveals, revenge, "office competition," and all the best Easter Eggs! I LOVE scary Vader!
Young Justice season 4 episode 25 0:53:56, the actual penultimate episode before this Thursday's finale! This one was titled, Over and Out!
Strange New Worlds episode 5 0:57:03 titled Spock Amok; a fun episode with great looks at characters and some really fantastic throwbacks, which I, of course, go over plentily.
And finally, Ms Marvel Show Prep! Starting at 1:06:11, we're going over the Disney+ "fan guide" information, what to know beforehand, what we already know about the plot details, plus cast and characters, potential villains, and to further excite you about Kamala's premier, some great coverage on what we know of the Captain Marvel sequel--the Marvels! Coming from twitter user @houseofphoton, linked below!
The next episode will be 67, coming Monday the 13th of June! We'll be talking the usual comic book picks and pulls along with the news, the new Kenobi and Strange New Worlds episodes, the Young Justice finale, and, of course, the Ms Marvel premier! Can't wait to get sweaty with you again.

Welcome to the May Yancy Street Special, Justice for Madelyne Pryor, the Goblin Queen! Maddie has a tumultuous comic history, one that takes a degree of research to fully understand, so I've done the work for you! Here you'll find everything you ever wanted to know about Madelyne Pryor, tip to toe, from Claremont-era X-Men to Vita Ayala's current New Mutants arc. There's good reason Maddie has become a bit of a fan favorite, and I hope after this, you'll agree!
Please note the content warning at the beginning of the episode for biological engineering, brainwashing, emotional and physical torture, abandonment, murder and suicide, psychological damage and extreme trauma, removal of personhood, infanticide, cheating and betrayal, etc.
Key Comics 0:07:42, covering all the noteworthy issues marking integral moments in her history.
Aliases 0:10:51, every name Madelyne is called through her comic history, and from which issues.
Team and Roles 0:13:18, going over Maddie's involvement as a Pilot/Mechanic, X-Men, Berserker, and more!
Alternate Versions 0:22:01, briefly summarizing 5 different realities' versions of Maddie, plus one extra 616-version.
Outfit Redesigns 0:27:32, focusing on two canon redesigns and 2 unofficial fan designs by professional artists. I also forgot to note a few things about Maddie's Goblin Queen outfit in this section, namely that anyone who's worn a "similar" top will understand it actually sits rather snug and comfortably. Additionally, the costume originated when Madelyne first became her "evil" version of herself, when her goal was the mental torture of her ex-husband, Scott. Her sultry look goes along with that intention just as much as the seduction of his younger brother, Alex.
Relationships 0:32:01, talking Madelyne's interactions and time with Kate (Kitty) Pryde, Jean Grey, Scott and Alex Summers, the other X-Men, Mister Sinister, and others.
Full Character Chronology 0:46:10, going over her entire comic book history, with insights, explanations, and everything else you can think of!
The Modern History 1:05:39, covering anything that's happened to Maddie since Inferno (1989).
Her TRUE Origin1:08:12, explaining the creators' original intention behind Madelyne, and how her story became so twisted away from those intentions by the end.
My personal head-canon of who she is and how to handle her 1:12:24, because it shouldn't be so hard to get a satisfying plot surrounding her out!
And finally, the current New Mutants Arc 1:15:05, starting with the recent release of issue #25, and discussing what might be coming in subsequent issues, based on what information we have.
I hope you feel this special has done Madelyne Pryor justice, for what little I can offer. We an only hope those with the power to make positive change and deserved recognition in her story, do so, and do so well.
Next Podcast Upload: Episode 66, Monday June 6th! Ooooh, 666 >:) And speaking of 666, don't miss the upcoming JUNE Yancy Street Special, all about Patsy Walker, aka Hellcat! One of the oldest characters at Marvel Comics, period.

Hello everyone, it's been a long week or so, but I'm proud of us for having even gotten this far. This one is late, but packed, as usual.
We start with what I'm calling Small NEWS 0:09:18, going over some brief reminders, fun facts, and other more minor announcements. The news continues with a Coming Soon 0:15:01 segment, covering a number of announcements from this past week. The Trailers 0:32:15 segment includes the She-Hulk trailer, the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer, as well as Umbrella Academy season 3, and Baymax on Disney+. For Rumors 1:00:35, there is just a small couple of MCU-related things, and finally the Comics 1:02:34 segment, covering the coming DC Swimsuit edition variants!

Good afternoon! This week we are an Egyptian History podcast, at least for a moment!
This week's NEWS 0:08:04 starts with a few minor points before breaking into the rest, starting with release updates for Across the Spider-Verse 0:10:22 parts 1 and 2. There are also some release changes on the horizon for the Batgirl movie 0:13:21. It's become time to finally address the Disney vs Florida situation 0:18:05, and let me be clear, I am NOT in agreement with the government of Florida in any way.
Then we have, on a lighter note, a rumored Elsa Bloodstone casting 0:27:26 for Werewolf y Night, Love and Thunder Casting Rumors 0:30:21 regarding Angela, Thor's half-sister with a complicated comic boo history, and the alleged Illuminati Lineup for Multiverse of Madness 0:41:11, in theaters next week!
While only a few, this week's comic PICKS 0:56:16 are mostly all bangers. The adjoining PULLS 1:03:14 for this week have a TON to look forward to!
