Going along with my weekly comics and geek culture blog, a new podcast to talk about all things comics industry, from a female perspective. NEW EPISODES WEEKLY! Check in Mondays for Comic Book Culture and News, comics in other media and pop culture news, and New Comic Release Discussions from that week! If it has to do with comic books, I’ll cover it here. Special Edition Podcast Episodes are uploaded at least monthly, covering comics history, character backgrounds, MCU and DCEU discussions, and whatever else strikes mine and the audiences fancies. Topics discussed tend to include ideals of social justice, representation in all media, and queer topics, so don’t be surprised! This podcast comes from a progressive queer woman’s perspective. Language is clean unless I get too excited. Come get ”sweaty” about nerdy stuff with me!

Welcome to the August Yancy Street Special: the She-Hulk Companion! The culmination of months of research on Jennifer Walters of Marvel Comics. Let's jump right in!
To better follow along, and for links referenced in this episode, check out the podcast notes for this special, linked [here], and this episode's Image Post is Here!
*Note: this special is chock-full of information, and will therefore be often referencing itself as I go along. The usual links to jump to specific sections of the podcast are in the description, but be advised that this has been put together with the intention of being listened to in full, front to back.
Starting off, we have the obvious questions of "Why are we doing this?/Why was she created?" (0:03:29), followed by information on her First Appearance and Key Comic Issues.
Jen's She-Hulk Series' and major features through the years (0:08:28) and One-shots!
Her Characterization (0:24:45) Then versus Now, including the duality of She-Hulk, controversies surrounding John Byrne and (on a lesser scale) Dan Slott, and on a better note, the characterization of Jennifer Walters: Legal Eagle.
Jen and She-Hulk's powers & abilities (0:42:49), which is followed by her roles and occupations.
All of her different forms of physical appearance (0:48:28), then her costumes/fashion through the years, including in all of those different forms!
The illusive tie with Jen and the Immortal Hulks (0:56:19), followed by other aliases & nicknames, bases of operations, alternate realities' She-Hulk's, and then related characters.
Jen's relationships (1:14:11), including family, friends and allies, love interests, and of course, her enemies.
She-Hulk's (and Jen's) team affiliations (1:37:32) through the years...
Jennifer Walters' FULL character history (1:45:27) and appearances as She-Hulk...
A few more personal notes (2:04:09), including things I noticed while doing all this research, clip from an essay of sorts I wrote on Jen and Carol a few years back (which can be found here), and the question of why IS Jen's She-Hulk designed as so much smaller than Bruce's? Spoiler alert: there isn't really a firm answer to that one, whoops!
…and finally, some She-Hulk: Attorney At Law show predictions (2:11:58), including characters we might see, and my full rundown of the first episode (as taken from Yancy St. Ep. 76). Be sure to check in to Episode 77 of the regular podcast to hear about episode 2's comic references and ensuing speculation!
