Going along with my weekly comics and geek culture blog, a new podcast to talk about all things comics industry, from a female perspective. NEW EPISODES WEEKLY! Check in Mondays for Comic Book Culture and News, comics in other media and pop culture news, and New Comic Release Discussions from that week! If it has to do with comic books, I’ll cover it here. Special Edition Podcast Episodes are uploaded at least monthly, covering comics history, character backgrounds, MCU and DCEU discussions, and whatever else strikes mine and the audiences fancies. Topics discussed tend to include ideals of social justice, representation in all media, and queer topics, so don’t be surprised! This podcast comes from a progressive queer woman’s perspective. Language is clean unless I get too excited. Come get ”sweaty” about nerdy stuff with me!

And all of this is to say....what, exactly? That's the question. Why do our celebrated (and disgraced) comic writers continue to knowingly create this kinds of stories, these kinds of terrible relationships---specifically for our favorite superheroes to be in? Is it to show they, too, are flawed? Hardly, we see that in other ways. Is it to make them seem more real? Again, I can't say for sure. All I can do is explore these stories with you, learn from them, and aim to do (and be) better.
Stay sweaty.
