Going along with my weekly comics and geek culture blog, a new podcast to talk about all things comics industry, from a female perspective. NEW EPISODES WEEKLY! Check in Mondays for Comic Book Culture and News, comics in other media and pop culture news, and New Comic Release Discussions from that week! If it has to do with comic books, I’ll cover it here. Special Edition Podcast Episodes are uploaded at least monthly, covering comics history, character backgrounds, MCU and DCEU discussions, and whatever else strikes mine and the audiences fancies. Topics discussed tend to include ideals of social justice, representation in all media, and queer topics, so don’t be surprised! This podcast comes from a progressive queer woman’s perspective. Language is clean unless I get too excited. Come get ”sweaty” about nerdy stuff with me!

Good Monday everyone and what a Monday it is! I woke up this morning to see the first teaser trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings had dropped online! What a superb wat to start a sweaty week.
But first! I start the episode talking this week's comic book pull list, spotlighting comics written by and starring women. These also happen to be my favorite comics coming out this week, and include Luna #3, Monstress #33, Women of Marvel #1, Spider-Woman #11, and Captain Marvel #28. There are a lot of other comics I discuss as well, but those are the headliners of the week!
After that, it's the regular Falcon and the Winter Soldier episode discussion, this week covering Friday's episode five. Following last week's bombshell, there was a lot to unpack, and we're definitely getting to a precipice of fan speculation. All discussed here!
Then, finally, we can talk about Shang-Chi, and why there are so many reasons to be excited for this ground-breaking MCU film. From Awkwafina to the San Francisco backdrop; from the comics inspiration to modern Asian-American culture---of all the segments this week, I was most looking forward to discussing this teaser, as the movie behind it is such an important step. I hope I do it justice in explaining why.
I don't like ending things on a negative note, so after the unfortunate rumors of Black Lightning versus Superman and Lois, I go through the Entertainment Weekly article posted today, coinciding with the Shang-Chi teaser, really just reaffirming my point about what an iconic and paramount moment in film and comics history this movie will be.
As usual, I'll be back Friday, April 23rd, to discuss this week's comic book picks--things I enjoyed or were otherwise noteworthy from this week's comic book releases, as well as any industry or relevant pop culture news. Until then, as always, find something to get sweaty about, and sweat it out unabashedly.
